Housing Assistance
In 2023, Broward County had 2,487 homeless people. The Salvation Army of Broward County offers these programs to help:
- Emergency and Transitional Housing for Individuals & Families: Get help with case management, childcare, life skills, food, and other services.
- Open Door Shelter: Provides meals, a safe place to sleep, shower facilities, and case management.
- Rapid Rehousing: Helps you find permanent housing in Broward County and with initial housing costs.
- New Beginnings: This program supports homeless pregnant women, their babies, and older children with safe, supportive transitional housing and services.

Emergency Disaster Services
When a disaster happens, The Salvation Army of Broward County is there to help. We are one of the first to arrive and continue to help long after the disaster. Our primary services focus on seven key areas, which may change depending on the severity of the disaster.
- Food Service: Our mobile feeding unit provides rescue workers and survivors with meals, snacks, and drinks.
- Emotional and Spiritual Care: Specially trained individuals offer emotional and spiritual support to rescue workers and disaster survivors.
- Recovery: supports long-term disaster recovery operations
- Disaster Social Services: provides emergency assistance for food, clothing, shelter, and medical services.
- Donations Management Emergency
- Emergency Radio Communications

Food Insecurity
Over 166,470 people in Broward County don't have enough food. The Salvation Army of Broward County helps our community by providing food assistance programs.
- Food Pantry: Every Thursday, from 9 am to 12 pm, our pantry opens its doors and provides groceries and fresh produce to residents facing food insecurity in Broward County. Our pantry assists 100 - 125 households per week.
- Community Dinner: free community dinners 6 days a week, providing a lifeline to those in need.
- Thanksgiving Meal: Our free Thanksgiving meal provides a feast to over 400 individuals in our community who may need more means to prepare their own.

Adult Rehabilitation
The center has a residential facility with a capacity of 200 for men who are struggling with alcohol and drug addictions. The program includes a six-month regimen of vocational activities, individual and group counseling, and room and board, provided free of cost.

Economic Stability Programs
This program is a stepping stone for individuals living in poverty, empowering them to create and build the stability they need. Here's what the program has in store:
- Getting Ahead Program: This is a 17-week class to help learn different life skills and understand money better.
- Pathway of Hope: This program provides comprehensive support to families, helping them identify and achieve their goals, and reassuring them that they are not alone in their journey out of poverty.
- Career Connections: This program equips individuals with job skills, assists in job searches, and enhances their performance at work, instilling a sense of hope and optimism for a better future.

Seasonal Programs
- Summer Camp: We believe every child should have a great summer. Our camps help kids from low-income families in our community by providing access to local day camp and away camp programs.
- Back To School: We help kids and teens prepare for school by giving them the necessary supplies.
- Cold Weather Shelter: We open our doors to give a warm and safe place to those in need when the temperature drops below 45°F.
- Angel Tree: We give gifts to underprivileged children, helping around 1,600 families in Broward County.
